embracing-happy-6-barbara-spanjers-quoteThis week, I’m happy to turn the reins over to the awesome and thought-provoking author Kim Yuhl, who has made it her mission to help others be happier. I was fortunate to be interviewed by her for her new podcast series Embracing Happy. The podcast series is a companion to her new book of the same title.

One of the things that sets Kim apart from so many other writers and thoughtful people is that she doesn’t claim you should strive for happy – as in, reaching a final end state of one emotion.

Rather, she’s pragmatic and honest that happy isn’t about unending joy and bliss. It isn’t about feeling upbeat 24/7.

And it might look different from one person to the next.

Embracing Happy consists of eight episodes. Four are interviews with a variety of people (including myself) discussing how their work in the world helps others be at least a little bit happier. From how yoga helps treat trauma to helping your children eat more nutritiously, you will learn tangible tips and skills.

The interviews are interspersed with Kim’s recommendations for leading a more meaningful life – culled from her reading of over 70 books about happiness.

If you enjoy the series, you’ll be happy to know that Kim plans more episodes for the future.

Listen to Embracing Happy on SoundCloud. The podcast series is also available from iTunes.

Show notes for the podcast series can be found here.

I would love to hear your main takeaway from the podcasts.
